Riad Sara, located in the heart of the medina of Fez, is one of the most beautiful Riad in this city and it is accessible by car. It has been built in the 17th century and recently restore with passion and talent, respecting its typical Moroccan architecture. The Riad is elegant and the suites are spacious and comfortable, welcoming you with attention, in the nice terrace where to taste remarkable cuisine in a refined elegant atmosphere.
Riad Sara it’s an extraordinary Riad, where the zelliges, the wood and plaster sculpted are combined to give the riad its charm. The riad has been restored in 2004 it is 300m2, a place of relax located in historical area named Batha inside of the imperial city: royal palace, Quaraouine mosk and university at the same time Fez El Bali, Fez Jdid, Mellah, Moulay Driss, and its surroundings: Ifran, Imouzer, Volubilis, Moulay Jacoub.

Founded in 789 by Idriss I, Fez was the first of the Moroccan imperial cities. In order to escape the rampant cholera and the terror of Queen Isabella of Spain, Andalusians, Berbers, Arabs and Jews found shelter in the ‘Athens of Africa'. All of these different cultures brought with them their traditions and therefore enriched the city, paving the way to the future kingdom of Morocco.
Fez is known for its handicrafts, its architecture, its culture, its reliefs and for its charm: memories of the past, a geographic and historic crossroads, the Medina of Fez is a true medieval Arab city where the present lives side by side with a past that is still very visible.
Since the 1980's Fez has been considered a Universal Heritage site for the UNESCO. Fez is the largest and most historic Medina of the Arab world.
Thousands of marvellous buildings, gardens and fountains are hidden behind ochre coloured walls on streets that still maintain alive craftsmen's traditions in a truly unique environment.
In order to discover the city, the best thing to do is to lose yourself within it. Through the Derise and the small streets of the Medina, you're able to go back in time and reconstruct thousands of years of history.
The Medina offers many different routes that awaken the senses of its visitors. The unique colours and scents are contained within this city that is rich with twelve centuries of history.
